INTER HOUSE SPORT DATES
SPORTS PREMIUM AT LONG CRENDON
At Long Crendon School children experience a wide range of sporting activities. The school is fortunate in having excellent facilities for physical education with extensive playing fields, hard court area, an outdoor swimming pool and a large hall/gym. There is a progressive PE curriculum in place ensuring children are taught a broad spectrum of sports in an age appropriate way. All children are taught swimming every year.
A variety of extra-curricular sports clubs run throughout the year for all age groups and are open to all abilities. Please see ‘Clubs and Activities’ for what is happening at the moment.
We are part of the Mandeville School Sport Partnership and selected pupils from all the year groups take part in a variety of competitions between other primary schools. During the past our children have excelled at these competitions both in their ability and their attitude. Matches against local schools are also played throughout the year.
Within school all children take part in Inter House sports once every three weeks in. Towards the end of the summer term all the children take part in Sports Day gaining points for their houses. At the end of the year all the points gained from Inter House sports are totalled and the winning house is awarded the Sports Trophy.
SPORTS DAYS
During the morning the children compete in mixed age House teams. They apply themselves to numerous multi skill activities trying to achieve as many points as possible for their House. They are also encouraged to work together as a team showing unity, kindness, determination, resilience, equality, courage and enthusiasm.
In the afternoon the children compete in sprint races, relays and obstacle races. The Parents are invited to have a go at the Obstacle race and re-live their younger days of going on space hoppers and jumping in sacks! The afternoon ends with a Tug of War competition between the Houses.
