Computing Scheme of Work - Overview

Computing Progression of Skills and Knowledge

We are using a pre-prepared Progression for Spoken Language as it is felt this fits the needs of the children. With thanks to Primary Education Consultancy for this document.

We have also published the Spelling list here (known as English Appendix 1: Spelling) from the DfE website as we follow this in regards to our spelling progression.

The Reading Framework - published by the DfE in July 2023 - gives information about what the school aims for to provide reading strategies for all children. This is also useful for parents, particularly Appendix 1. The school audit internally to make sure all aspect are fully covered.

Language learning links

At Long Crendon School, we are the Place to Grow so we don't want to limit language learning to French alone! Here are some links to external sites to help further your language learning journey

Please note that external links are not monitored and were safe and appropriate at the time of recommendation. The school is not responsible for the content of these websites

The whole school reading list is in addition to Phonics for KS1. It lists texts that are used for learning and reading for pleasure/storytelling texts. These often link, throughout the school, to topics taught.

Home Learning

We know that homework/home learning can be diificult for some families due to the demands of family life. We have therefore consulted with parents and teachers to put together a solution we hope will fit with most families.

The document below outlines what we will be doing going forward. Please speak to class teachers for any further information.
