News Flash!

Elm Class witnessed some mysterious activity in Foundation and discovered evidence that we had some uninvited visitors! Displays had been turned upside down or were missing so the children began investigating and searching for clues. After writing some letters and leaving them for the visitors to find, a reply was left which directed the class to the wild area. A message from the ‘Wild Pixies’ had been spelt out using our phoneme cards asking that the children tidy up the mess in the den. The children then wanted to design special camera traps to catch the pixies in the act. The saga continues…

Mystery Visitors

We looked at a Red Kite

The children had the opportunity to see a beautiful Red Kite up close, which had sadly been killed at school by the Wind Turbine. This led to some good discussions about life and death and the food chain. The children accepted that although it was sad to see the dead bird, it would become food for other animals and it was a special chance to see nature up close. (See images below)
