Year 1

‘Millions of pieces of trash enter our oceans every year. It’s ruining our oceans and that is not ok! That is why I decided to do something about it’ – Ryan Hickman, from the age of 3 he was encouraging his neighbours to recycle and by the age of 7 launched Ryan’s Recycling. He has so far recycled almost one million cans and plastic bottles and raised over £7000 to protect Pacific Ocean sea life!

Year 1 Spring Term

It’s the spring term and we’re all looking forward to the days gradually getting longer and spotting some signs of spring.

Our topic this term is Space. This is always a really exciting topic and really captures the children’s imagination. We will be looking at non-fictions texts related to space, the planets and a range of astronauts. We will also cover fictional texts related to aliens and space travel. The spring term learning log grid gives suggested ideas for follow activities ar home.

Learn your number bonds to 10 e.g. 5+3=8, 5+5=10 etc…

Read at least 3 times a week with an adult and discuss the text.
