Great News!
Against all odds, amazingly we had a chick hatch this morning! It needed a little help to get out, but is now resting well and seems to be doing well.

We looked at a Red Kite
The children had the opportunity to see a beautiful Red Kite up close, which had sadly been killed at school by the Wind Turbine. This led to some good discussions about life and death and the food chain. The children accepted that although it was sad to see the dead bird, it would become food for other animals and it was a special chance to see nature up close. (See images below)
