Welcome to Year 4. Mrs Woodward is the Year 4 teacher and she is supported by Mr Van der Leewu
I aim to keep you informed of all the things will be happening but if you would like to know more please contact me.
We are really excited by our topic this term – Teeth and Digestion
We will be reading the Demon Dentist by David Walliams, we will be finding out about human and animal teeth and how your digestive system works.
Unfortunately school is closed to most pupils. We really hope that we will all be together again really soon.
In the mean time, all your work is set on our Google Classrooms. Don’t forget to log in every day to find out what tasks you have been set. Typically you have Maths and English every day then we do RE and Science on Monday, French and PE on a Tuesday, D&T and PSHE on a Wednesday, Science and ICT on a Thursday and Music and Art on a Friday.
It is really important to share reading with an adult at home at least 3 times a week, practise your times tables on Times tables Rockstars for 3 minutes a day and learn your spelling rules.
We know that it is different for everyone at home so try do what you can and don’t compare yourself to others.
We have compiled web links that we feel would be useful for children and parents. Have a look at our Useful links document for ideas.

Supporting Your Child’s Learning Journey at Home
Below, please find the Statutory Spellings for Y3/4. All children should be aiming to spell all of these words by the end of Year 4.
Year 4 non-negotiables
Parents often tell us that they struggle to find age-appropriate books that appeal to children as they reach upper KS2.
Reading doesn’t have to be with a book! Audible books
Please see our suggested reading lists to get your children inspired.
