Year 1

‘Millions of pieces of trash enter our oceans every year. It’s ruining our oceans and that is not ok! That is why I decided to do something about it’ – Ryan Hickman, from the age of 3 he was encouraging his neighbours to recycle and by the age of 7 launched Ryan’s Recycling. He has so far recycled almost one million cans and plastic bottles and raised over £7000 to protect Pacific Ocean sea life!

Year 1 Summer Term

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

It’s the summer term and the sun has been out ready to greet us. We’ve got an exciting term ahead and are really looking forward to celebrating the Queens Platinum Jubilee.

Our topic this term is the seaside. We’re quite landlocked where we are but that doesn’t mean we can’t experience a bit of life at the seaside. We will be focussing on how trips to the seaside have changed over the years and differences between geographical features at the seaside and here in Long Crendon. We hope to finish off the summer term with a seaside themed day here at school.

Swimming will commence after the half term break once the pool is warm enough.
