Summer Term Issue 32 – 3 July 2015
Dear Parents/Carers
I hope to see you on our open afternoon from 1.30 to 3.00 on Monday 6th July. Visitors will be free to walk around our extensive grounds to see our provision for Learning Outside the Classroom.
Friends and family are welcome!
Kind regards
Sue Stamp
WATER SAFETY
Following a recent drowning, the Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Children Board is asking all schools to remind all pupils about water safety as we head towards the summer holidays and nicer weather. Water may look safe, but it can be dangerous. Please see the attached poster.
CAUTIONARY NOTICE
Please note that we have received an unofficial report of a man in a red car loitering around the tennis courts and park area, early in the evening. Please remain vigilant and remind children not to talk to strangers. Thank you.
ROALD DAHL FESTIVAL
This takes place in Aylesbury town centre tomorrow morning and we will once again be taking part in the parade. It’s great fun! Why not come and watch?
SCHOOL TRAVEL PLAN SURVEY
As part of the feedback on how the School Travel Plan initiatives are supporting sustainable methods for children to travel to and from school, there is a survey that you are asked to complete as a family for EACH pupil at the school. The travel survey has been given to each child today. You are asked to select up to two ways that you travel to school. Please hand your completed surveys to the class teacher or the school office by July 14th, thank you.
THAME SHOW ART COMPETITION
The theme is “Market”, there are 3 categories:
- A painting of a Market
- A model of a Market
- A collage of a Market
All need to be A4 size.
The competition is broken up into 2 age groups: 5-8yrs and 8-11yrs for Primary.
Entries should be brought into school by Monday 20th July and we will select the best 6 in each category and age group to submit to the show.
There is free entry into the competition for the children. Mrs Leith has some leaflets if you would like further information. There will be a Thame Show Diploma for the best exhibit in the junior art classes.
